Las Vegas has released updated odds for the Pac-12 Football Championship. This comes after a thrilling race in 2022 and ahead of a highly anticipated 2023 season for the conference.

In 2022, three coaches came to new schools in the Pac-12, making them all immediate contenders for the conference championship. Lincoln Riley revitalized USC and took them to the championship game. Dan Lanning helped turn Oregon into a dominant force. Then, Kalen DeBoer has made Washington a legitimate contender after inheriting a team in the cellar.

Now, those teams as well as established brands in the conference like Utah, which won the last two Pac-12 Championships, are going to compete in what should be an exciting conference race.

Pac-12 Championship odds

Here are the Pac-12 Football Championship odds, according to FanDuel:

  1. USC +200
  2. Oregon +310
  3. Washington +430
  4. Utah +470
  5. Oregon State +900
  6. UCLA +1600
  7. Washington State +3000
  8. California +7500
  9. Arizona State +8500
  10. Arizona +10000
  11. Colorado +10000
  12. Stanford +10000

USC, despite being unable to beat Utah in two tries last season and losing to Tulane in the Cotton Bowl is the clear favorite to win the Pac-12 in 2023. This is largely because the Trojans return quarterback Caleb Williams, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2022. As long as the defense steps up, USC seems almost unbeatable.

Oregon and Washington aren’t going to go out easily, though. Both teams look to be explosive on offense and could easily turn a game against USC into a shootout. They’re not alone, though, with Oregon State, Utah, and UCLA all representing real threats too.

One coach and team that are going to get a ton of attention are Deion Sanders and Colorado. Sanders has a ton of media attention on the program as the college football world wonders how quickly Sanders is going to be able to rebuild the program. Given his usage of the transfer portal, it seems like Sanders wants a quick flip. However, it would be unfair to expect Colorado to compete for the Pac-12 Championship in 2023.

Kenny Dillingham, the new Arizona State head coach, and Troy Taylor, the new Stanford coach, are both longshots at their respective schools as well. However, they are receiving far less attention, for better or worse, than Colorado.

As of now, there seem to be several tiers with the Pac-12. There are the teams that seem like favorites. Then there is the middle of the pack. That’s followed by several new coaches and teams trying to turn things around.
