There you have it. Georgia, Ohio State and Alabama are neck-and-neck-and-neck for the title race in the eyes of Vegas, with the Dawgs owning the slight edge with the lowest odds at +202 to repeat as champs. They and Alabama actually took small hits in the odds this week compared to last. Due to Georgia’s dicey road win vs. Missouri, where they got down 13-0 and looked vulnerable all night. Meanwhile, Alabama saw Heisman-winning quarterback Bryce Young go down, which is obviously a huge cause for concern.

Those tough breaks for the two SEC schools and last year’s champ and runner-up were good news for Ohio State, though, as they leapt Alabama and make a sizeable jump up in odds.

One surprise may be Clemson, who is typically a factor right alongside the Georgia’s, Alabama’s and Ohio State’s of the world. But their odds are all the way down at +1220, roughly sextuple the odds of the other three mainstay powers. And after they just defeated ranked NC State and Wake Forest teams in back to back weeks. In theory, the hardest part of the Tigers’ schedule is behind them. So why so low still? Vegas must not trust that Clemson offense compared to the others. Because it sure seems like Dabo Swinney’s club will at least make the Playoff.

After that, the odds start getting pretty long. Though USC does get a nice shout with the fifth-highest odds at +1660. But you can almost guarantee, given recent history, that one of those top three or four will be taking home the trophy.
