A top two team lost in Week 7 for the second consecutive week

Last week, it was previously No. 1 Alabama losing that shocked the college football world. This week, it was No. 2 Iowa that was stunned against Purdue. As a result, Iowa dropped all the way down to No. 11 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll.

Elsewhere, Georgia remained dominant with a 30-13 win over a surging Kentucky team. Cincinnati remained hot with a dominating victory over UCF, and Caleb Williams starred in Oklahoma’s win over TCU. Alabama also got back on track with a 49-9 win over Mississippi State, resulting in the Crimson Tide having the second best title odds.

The 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th ranked teams lost in Week 7. Arkansas was upset by Auburn while Arizona State fell to Utah. Baylor took down BYU and LSU shocked Florida.

The latest On3 bowl projections were also released following Week 7. On3 projects Georgia to take on Cincinnati in the Orange Bowl and Ohio State to take on Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl in the two College Football Playoff semifinal games. The two CFP semifinal games will take place on December 30. The national title game will be played at 8 p.m. ET on January 10.

The first College Football Playoff rankings are set to be released on Tuesday, November 2. The college football season is more than halfway done, and things are about to get even more entertaining during the stretch run of the season.
