Caesars Sportsbook updated its NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds on Monday, with five first-round quarterbacks listed as the frontrunners to take home the award this season.

Although first-overall pick Trevor Lawrence remains a heavy favorite, fellow rookies Justin Fields and Trey Lance have covered considerable ground in the latest update.

Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars: +300

Unsurprisingly, Lawrence, the first-overall pick out of Clemson, remains a relatively heavy favorite in the race for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Although he has not officially been named the starting quarterback, he should have a leg up over Gardner Minshew by the time the regular season rolls around.

Lawrence completed 6-of-9 passes in his preseason debut against the Cleveland Brown for 71 yards, but the rookie did not throw any touchdowns. His offensive line allowed two sacks for 12 yards in his debut, and Lawrence coughed up a fumble in the appearance.

Justin Fields, Chicago Bears: +550

Like Lawrence, Fields has not yet been named Chicago’s starting quarterback. The rookie will have to first beat out Andy Dalton. The Bears opted to start Dalton in their second preseason game, but Dalton’s three three-and-outs could have made the decision easier.

Fields, an Ohio State product, completed 9-of-19 passes in the second preseason game, throwing for 80 yards and rushing for 46 more on four carries. It seems as though he’s beginning to close in on Lawrence in Rookie of the Year odds, as he was previously listed at +600.

Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers: +600

North Dakota State alum Trey Lance had an eye-opening performance in his second preseason game Sunday, bringing his odds for NFL Rookie of the Year from +700 down to +600. He got off to a bit of a slow start, only completing one of his first five passes, but recovered nicely. Lance led two touchdown drives in his final three possessions and completed seven of his last nine throws, tallying 102 yards through the air.

Mac Jones, New England Patriots: +1000

Jones cut up the Eagles’ backups with apparent ease in his second preseason appearance, and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick let his first-round rookie quarterback play for quite some time.

The Alabama product posted a 91.1 quarterback rating in a win over the Eagles, and completed 13-of-19 passes for 146 yards. Perhaps its worth noting that Cam Newton also played a solid game against the Eagles, so Jones might still have some work to do before being named the starter.

Zach Wilson, New York Jets: +1000

Wilson has one thing that the other rookie candidates do not, and that’s an easy path to being named the Week 1 starter. The others will presumably start on or soon after Week 1, but Wilson has practically no other competition.

He continues to separate himself from the other competition he does have, and in his second preseason game, he did so to the tune of nine completions in 11 attempts, 128 passing yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions — that’s a 154.7 quarterback rating for the draftee out of BYU.
