The USC Trojans’ 2021 recruiting class ranked among the top 10 nationally in the cycle. And if the early indications play out on the field, Clay Helton and his staff brought in a class that could elevate the Trojans into playoff contention.

Five-star prospects Jaxson Dart and Korey Foreman already have the look of future NFL draft picks, and the class also looks to have quality depth. Here are the most impressive USC freshmen.

Jaxson Dart, QB, Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon

On300 Ranking: No. 6

The buzz: Dart (pictured above) impressed in a big way during the spring, and that has carried over to August camp. There is some chatter building that Dart, a five-star prospect for On3, already is the best quarterback in the program. Should Kedon Slovis struggle for some reason, USC won’t hesitate to hand the ball to Dart.

Korey Foreman, EDGE, Corona (Calif.) Centennial

On300 Ranking: No. 5

The buzz: Another On3 five-star prospect who is living up to lofty expectations. Foreman has impressed to the point of receiving reps with the 1s opposite Drake Jackson.

Joseph Manjack, WR, Tomball (Texas) Memorial

On300 Ranking: No. 257

The buzz: Manjack has been the surprise in the class for USC thus far. He has size and strength and has shown impressive football-playing speed since arriving. Expect Manjack to contribute this season.

Raesjon Davis, LB, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei

On300 Ranking: No. 134

The buzz: Davis has been practicing in the two-deep in August. He’s flashed his quickness and ability to close on the ball. The next step for Davis will be adjusting to bringing the physicality needed on a play-to-play basis.

Ceyair Wright, CB, Los Angeles Loyola

On300 Ranking: No. 56

The buzz: Wright is another freshman breaking into the two-deep. Wright, who USC lists at 6 feet 2, 180 pounds, has looked the part of a multiyear starter for the Trojans.

Michael Trigg, TE, Tampa Carrollwood Day

On300 ranking: No. 233

The buzz: Trigg has flashed an impressive skill set as a pass catcher and has the quickness to win vertically. Stepping up to the level needed physically on a consistent basis will be key for his development.

Calen Bullock, S, Pasadena (Calif.) John Muir

On300 Ranking: Four-star prospect

The buzz: Bullock has impressed since stepping on campus in the spring. He needs to add strength and weight to his 6-3, 180-pound frame, but he brings it every play. Bullock is physical, reactive and closes on the ball quickly. He has the look of a multiyear starter.
