USC QB Caleb Williams unveils new Beats by Dre commercial
USC quarterback Caleb Williams has been one of the early stars of NIL with his mega deals with Hawkins Way Capital, Fanatics, Faculty and other companies. But it was his NIL deal in February with Beats by Dre that captured the nation’s attention.
And days before the Trojans kickoff their season against Rice, we got the first extensive look at the size of the partnership between Beats and Williams.
In a tweet shared by Beats by Dre’s official Twitter account, Williams takes center stage in a 91-second commercial with “Still Omw” from Blxst in the background.
“I’m Caleb Williams, quarterback for the USC Trojans,” Williams says in the spot. “Music is obviously one of my ways that kind of helps me get through things. We get to rep 10 or 12, you know, music kind of can give you a certain juice, a certain vibe, a certain energy to keep going.
“Being creative on and off the field is one of my things that I do. I’m one of the only male college athletes that paints his nails, goes out there, drops back and throws the ball. It’s one of my ways that I can show my variety and express myself.”
Williams then goes into what it takes to be a successful quarterback.
“There’s a lot to a quarterback,” he says in the commercial. “He has to be there for all of his teammates. He always has to show up and actually put in the work.
“A football in my hands feels like gold. All the hard work that you’ve put in to perfect just that one pass. All that dedication, how locked in you have to be. You put in all that work to be the best. When you can drop back, and you know, just know that it’s a perfect ball. It’s an angelic feeling. It’s an on-top-of-the-world feeling and it’s awesome every single time.
“When you’re not having fun with it, stop. And I’m having a blast.”
