The Florida Gators are headed to Oxford to take on the Ole Miss Rebels. It’s a battle of a team that has fired its head coach against a team fighting for the College Football Playoff, but stranger things have happened in the SEC.

One of the major narratives in this game is going to be off the field. In particular, the Florida coaching search as it relates to Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin. However, on the field, there are plenty of storylines to follow. That includes the health of both teams in this one.

Starting on Wednesday of every week before SEC games, teams begin releasing availability reports. Here’s the update from Thursday.

It’s a long list of names that are already out for Florida. That includes four defensive backs and a pair of star wide receivers. In the case of Eugene Wilson, he was recently lost for the season. That was due to an ankle injury that’s going to require surgery, after initially suffering the injury during the loss to Georgia. It also makes getting the rest oft the roster as healthy as possible that much more important.

One of those key players who Florida is hoping to get for this showdown is defensive lineman Caleb Banks. That initial status of doubtful is actually an upgrade. He’s been down for the majority of the season and hasn’t played since the LSU game. This comes after dealing with a foot injury during the offseason and reinjuring it in that game, needing to get surgery on it.

It’s a much shorter list of injuries so far for Ole Miss. Only Raymond Collins, a linebacker, has been ruled out for the game so far. Still, when combined with two questionable defensive linemen, there are some health and depth concerns on the defensive front seven and the defensive side of the ball in general.

Of course, the week isn’t over and there’s still plenty of time for changes to the availability reports for both teams. Those will be updated in the coming days before kickoff is set.

Ole Miss is the host for this game. Kickoff itself is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, November 15th.
