Tyler (Texas) four-star athlete Derrick McFall can play various positions on the field. He demonstrated that ability on Thursday night against McKinney (Texas) McKinney North.

Even though Tyler lost 34-13, McFall showcased his ability to set up big plays. He did just that at the end of the game. Lining up under center, the 5-foot-10, 175 pound prospect found Ja’Davion Lacy for a 68-yard touchdown.

McFall is the No. 87 overall prospect and No. 5 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 14 player in Texas.

The Lone Star State native has received 17 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it is a close race for his commitment. Texas A&M currently leads for McFall’s pledge at 45.8%, while Texas has the next-best chance at 40.1%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

McFall has taken five visits to both the Aggies and the Longhorns. He also took an unofficial visit to Alabama on June 21.

The four-star has an On3 NIL Valuation of $65K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
