Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star athlete Rodrick Pleasant is known for his speed. But what he did this weekend at a California track meet was next level.

Pleasant put down a mind-blowing 100-meters dash time yesterday of 10.16 seconds. The time was wind aided but is the second-fastest 100 meters time in the history of California high schools, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“I ran well,” Pleasant told the Los Angeles Times.

He also ran the 200 meters in 20.40 seconds, another insane time that stacks up among the best in the history of the state.

Pleasant is the No. 157 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is also the sixth-ranked athlete in the country and the 11th-ranked prospect from the state of California.

Rodrick Pleasant has his first official visit scheduled

Rodrick Pleasant announced his top 13 schools in February: Arizona, Boston College, Cal, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Texas, UCLA, USC and Utah.

Boston College is receiving his first official visit, which will occur from June 10-12.

“They have been recruiting me from the very beginning,” Pleasant told On3. “Coach [Jeff] Hafley and coach Aazaar [Adbul-Rahim] have always been there and we have a great relationship.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $25k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

That will likely increase as his performance this weekend stretches across the country.
