Picayune (Miss.) Picayune Memorial four-star running back Dante Dowdell has been committed to Oregon since May 13. The 6-foot-1.5, 210 pound prospect demonstrated the talent he is bringing to Eugene on Friday night.

After receiving a handoff, Dowdell broke to his right, outrunning multiple defenders. He eventually crossed the goal line for a roughly 40-yard touchdown. So far in the contest against Carriere (Miss.) Pearl River Central, the four-star has multiple scores.

Dowdell is the No. 207 overall prospect and No. 11 running back in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Mississippi.

The Mississippi native is the only running back in Oregon’s 2023 recruiting class. The group contains 18 commitments and ranks No. 11 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings, as well as  No. 1 in the Pac-12

Dowdell has an On3 NIL Valuation of $24K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

“Big downhill runner who is one of the more powerful running backs in the 2023 cycle. Measured at over 6-foot-1, 208 pounds prior to his senior season. Tests as a good athlete, running an electronically-timed 4.65 second 40-yard dash in addition to a 34 inch vertical. Very productive while carrying a big workload as a junior.
