Whit Weeks is making it known that his recruitment is his alone. Weeks’ older brother, West Weeks, is a freshman at Virginia this season. His Father, David Weeks, played for Georgia in mid-90s.

The Watkinsville (Ga.) Oconee County junior is keeping options open. His options continue to expand. Back on Aug. 4 Weeks picked up a surprising offer from the Miami Hurricanes.

Weeks expected a casual, relationship-building call with the Hurricanes’ inside linebacker coach Jonathan Patke.

Instead, Weeks received an offer from a school he holds in high regard.

“It was really unexpected for me,” Weeks said. “All of their coaches followed me within two days. I was like ‘whoa, I didn’t know Miami was going to be interested’. When I talked to coach (Jonathan) Patke on the phone, and he offered me. I was excited because, its Miami. That’s awesome. That’s a big-time college football program.”

Who else interests Whit Weeks?

Whit Weeks has offers from Boston College, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Virginia. He plans to see all of those schools this fall for games. He took unofficial visits to them all this summer.

Weeks already is already scheduled for a Virginia game this fall. He will also attend Boston College’s Oct. 16 matchup against North Carolina State. Weeks also plans to attend a Notre Dame game, though he doesn’t have an offer from the FIghtin Irish as of now.

Boston College has already made an impression on Weeks.

“That campus is awesome,” Weeks said. “Boston is a cool town. I would love to live in Boston. It’s probably the nicest campus I’ve ever seen.”

The new coaching staff hasn’t wasted time building a solid relationship with Weeks. Linebacker coach Sean Duggan is a holdover from the previous staff. He also played at Boston College. Duggan and Weeks have built a connection through their consistent communication.

“Their linebacker coach, Sean Duggan, I probably have the best relationship with him, because we talk all the time and I really enjoy him,” Weeks said.

South Carolina is also a school Weeks thinks highly of. He was originally offered by the Will Muschamp regime. Shane Beamer and the new staff re-offered Weeks back on June 15.

Weeks has already clicked with Beamer. The distance from Watkinsville is also something that is intriguing for Weeks.

“Coach Beamer is awesome,” Weeks said. “When I went up there this summer, I had a really good conversation with him. He’s a heck of a coach. I really like South Carolina. Everything is awesome. It’s also not a bad drive from here, so that’s a plus.”
