Established in the summer of 20222, GXG started off as a marketplace platform to connect Baylor athletes with Waco business. Founded by Start Up Waco, which works serves all entrepreneurs in Central Texas from idea to scale, the thought was to provide opportunities to local businesses and Baylor athletes. That idea has morphed into the go-to collective in the Waco market. The first major move came in October, when Baylor football players signed a team-wide deal with a Start Up Waco. Since then, GXG has officially partnered with the university through Learfield. In February, the collective announced the formation of GXG Elite. The membership program will offer a range of exclusive benefits, including access to special events, behind-the-scenes content and unique merchandise and memorabilia to donors and fans. Plans are in place for the program to fully launch later this year.
