One day after Bryce James, the younger son of LeBron James, received his first college scholarship offer from Duquesne, his On3 NIL Valuation climbed to $903,000 — an increase of $156,000 from last week. James is a 6-foot-2 shooting guard in the high school class of 2025. He’s a rising sophomore at Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California.

On Monday, Bryce James posted a story on Instagram, where he has more than one million followers, that he received an offer from Duquesne.

Bryce’s older brother, Bronny James, ranks No. 1 in the On3 NIL 100 with an On3 NIL Valuation of $7.2 million.

Like his brother Bronny, the younger James’ recruitment still has a long way to go. On3’s Jamie Shaw recently listed Oregon as the frontrunner to receive a commitment from Bronny James. Oregon was followed by USC and Ohio State.

In a story covering Bryce James’ first offer, Shaw noted the connections Duquesne’s coaching staff has to the James family. “Duquesne has deep ties with the James family,” Shaw wrote. “Head Coach Keith Dambrot was LeBron’s high school coach at St. Vincent’s St. Mary’s. LeBron’s former high school teammate, Dru Joyce III, is the Associate Head Coach at Duquesne, a title he earned in early May.”

How Bryce James’ On3 NIL Valuation is calculated

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes, including headliners like Bronny and Bryce James. The On3 NIL Valuation utilizes a proprietary algorithm that includes data points regarding an athlete’s performance, influence and exposure.

It doesn’t act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date, nor does it project an athlete’s market value for the rest of the athlete’s career. Rather, it calculates the projected value of an athlete’s NIL opportunities for up to 12 months in the future.

The NIL 100 is the first of its kind and the defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes, ranked by market valuation.

In addition to Bryce James’ one million Instagram followers, he also has 1.2 million followers on TikTok. A highlight video Bryce James posted in July received nearly 3.5 million views.

Bryce James ranks No. 26 in the NIL 100 and his On3 NIL Valuation ranks fifth among high school basketball players, four spots behind his older brother.
