Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson signs NIL partnership with Fanatics
Anthony Richardson continues to catapult his on-field success into NIL dollars.
The Florida quarterback has inked an NIL partnership with Fanatics, IP attorney Darren Heitner confirmed to On3. Heitner represents Richardson in sponsorship, endorsement and marketing agreements.
As part of the deal, Richardson is signing jerseys, posters and footballs. The quarterback’s jersey is also available on Fanatics, but currently out of stock.
“Terms are confidential but marketing experts I spoke with said it was a very good deal,” Heitner said in a text to On3.
The Gators are 4-2 entering this weekend’s game with LSU coming into Gainesville. Richardson stole the spotlight in Week 1 of the college football season, pulling off an upset win over Utah. He’s struggled since, falling on the road at Tennessee. Florida is currently on a two-game win streak.
Through six games, Richardson has thrown for 1,182 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions. He’s excelled on the ground, too, averaging 6.1 yards per carry along with another five touchdowns.
The quarterback has found plenty of success in NIL since July 1, 2021. He was part of the inaugural class of Outback Steakhouse’s TeamMATES program. He appeared at the More Than An Athlete Camp, and he signed with the Gator Collective.
And he most recently announced a partnership with Champs Sports in September. The Champs deal was brokered by Richardson’s agent, Deiric Jackson.
“We set off on a strategy saying, ‘Look, this may take some time and you’re going to have to prove yourself, but if and when that happens, you’re going to be able to capitalize on it,” Heitner previously told On3. “And don’t be like so many of the other athletes out there jumping at every single opportunity. Focus on quality over quantity.’”
