Returning Duke point guard Jeremy Roach and his former college teammate and New York Knicks guard Trevor Keels, who signed a two-way contract with the franchise in March, will host a basketball skills camp on Saturday, June 3. Roach has promoted the camp using his name, image and likeness rights.

The players are hosting the camp at Riverside High School.

There are two sessions, each of which are scheduled for two hours. The first session is for players in first through fifth grade, while the second session is catered to players in sixth through 10th grade.

The first session is from 9 a.m. ET to 11 a.m. ET. The second session is from Noon to 2 p.m.

Attendance costs $170 per camper, although group rates are available for teams of at least five players.

Reservations are available through SIMPLY FREE, a website Roach’s older sister, Chloe Roach, started in 2019 to “educate about mental health and motivate athletes to be their best mentally,” according to the website.

Jeremy Roach advertised youth camp on Instagram

In early May, Roach posted a flyer for the event on Instagram, where he has more than 62,000 followers.

“COME GET BETTER‼️ don’t miss out on this opportunity to get game,” he wrote in the caption. “Sign up today link in bio‼️‼️”

At the time, Roach hadn’t announced whether he was going to return to Duke for his senior season or start his professional career. On the flyer, Roach is wearing a white Duke jersey, although the university’s name was removed from the front of the jersey. College athletes typically need to request permission to use a university’s name or marks in association with an NIL deal.

Additionally, on Simply Free’s website, the description of the event simply listed Roach as a point guard, whereas it identified Keels as a shooting guard for the New York Knicks.

Eight days after Roach promoted the youth camp on Instagram, he announced his return to Duke on the social media platform. “Duke nation I’m not done yet😈 year 4…” he wrote in the caption.

Jeremy Roach, Trevor Keels played together in 2021-22

Roach enrolled at Duke in 2020 as the second-highest ranked member of the Blue Devils’ recruiting class, which ranked second nationally, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Keels enrolled at Duke the following season as part of a Blue Devils recruiting class that fellow one-and-done player Paolo Banchero headlined. The 2021-22 season was former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski’s last at the school.

The top five scorers from that team – Banchero, Wendell Moore, Mark Williams, Keels and AJ Griffin – are all now in the NBA. Roach, who started 27 of the team’s 39 games, was the sixth-leading scorer. Keels averaged 11.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Roach averaged 8.6 points, 3.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game.

The Blue Devils earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament, where they lost to the rival North Carolina Tar Heels in the Final Four.

Keels appeared in three games for the Knicks last season, where he averaged one point per game. Roach averaged a career-high 13.6 points per game as a junior in coach Jon Scheyer‘s first season as head coach.

Given the talented players who announced their returns to Duke, plus those who the Blue Devils are set to enroll, they’ll likely receive enough votes to earn a top-10 ranking in the preseason AP Top 25 poll next season.

Scheyer landed the No. 2 high school recruiting class in the country for the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. The Blue Devils signed four top-20 recruits, headlined by shooting guard Jared McCain, who’s a five-star prospect ranked No. 11 nationally.
