Talk about a tasty NIL deal for LSU Tiger fans.

LSU football players Jack Bech, BJ Ojulari, Kayshon Boutte, John Emery Jr. and Maason Smith took over the Raising Cane’s near the Tigers’ Baton Rouge, La., campus on Sunday. As part of the NIL deal, the Tigers star players served patrons at the counter and even through the drive-thru.

Boutte, one of the top returning receivers in college football, got high praise from the Raising Cane’s social media account for five-star drive-thru performance.

The deal between the LSU players and Raising Cane’s a is perfect NIL partnership. Raising Cane’s, a fast-food restaurant chain specializing in chicken fingers, was founded in Baton Rouge by Todd Graves and Craig Silvey. Furthermore, Raising Cane’s still has its headquarters only 10 minutes away from Tiger Stadium.

Along with additional promotion on social media, the five Tiger players are featured on billboards throughout the Baton Rouge area with the “Our Home Team & Hometown,” slogan.

Raising Cane’s major NIL player

This isn’t the first time that Raising Cane’s has partnered with college football stars in NIL deals. For example, Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett surprised customers at an Athen’s Raising Cane’s following his legendary performance against Alabama. Raising Cane’s also executed NIL deals last year with LSU cornerback Sevyn Banks and quarterback Myles Brennan. Then Oklahoma Sooner signal-caller Spencer Rattler also had a deal. Those deals were announced just two days after the NCAA permitted NIL in July 2021.

Texas A&M RB Isaiah Spiller also had a NIL deal with Cane’s last season before moving on to the NFL.

LSU players cashing in on NIL deals

With a renewed interest in the LSU program after Brian Kelly arrived in Baton Rouge, more and more major NIL deals are being struck with Tiger players.

Boutte is one of the biggest NIL money-makers in college football. Boutte has the 10th highest On3 NIL Valuation at $1.4 million. He signed a deal with Gordon McKernan, the injury attorney who has become a big-money donor at LSU.
