Tyler Van Dyke has himself another NIL deal. The Hurricanes quarterback announced a new partnership with The Players Trunk on Thursday, featuring official trading cards.

He made the news official via Twitter.

“Canes Fans! I’m super excited to release my first official trading card with @theplayerstrunk,” Van Dyke tweeted. “Each card was hand signed and foil stamped.”

It’s been a busy offseason for Van Dyke, who’s gearing up for his redshirt sophomore season with the Hurricanes. He also lined up NIL deals with CanesWear sports apparel and Florida Concierge Medicine and Wellness in February. Last month, he secured a car deal with Sarchione Auto Gallery, which landed him a new BMW.

Van Dyke is No. 22 in the On3 NIL 100 with an NIL Valuation of $774K. He also ranks No. 15 in the On3 College Football NIL Rankings as he continues to make the most of the NIL opportunities coming his way.

More on Tyler Van Dyke

Van Dyke played in just one game as a freshman in 2020, but saw action in 10 games in 2021. He completed 62.3% of his passes for 2,931 yards and 25 touchdowns to help the Hurricanes to a 7-5 overall record and a 5-3 mark in ACC play under Manny Diaz. Now, Mario Cristobal is taking over the program with former Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis calling the shots on offense.

Van Dyke said the offense is going to have a different look — but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

“You’ll be able to notice a difference,” Van Dyke told the Miami Herald. “We don’t run as many RPOs [run/pass options] as we used to. A lot more pass concepts, a lot more run concepts, more outside zone, more run scheme we didn’t necessarily have last year.

“We have a lot of playmakers. You get the ball to them in space and they make something happen. As long as the line gives me some time and we get the playmakers the ball, it’s going to be a good season.”

Out of high school, Van Dyke was a four-star recruit and the No. 20 quarterback prospect from the Class of 2020, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also has the fifth-best odds to win the Heisman Trophy this year, according to VegasInsider, tied with Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.
