LSU quarterback Myles Brennan previously joined forces with The Players’ Lounge in March.

Now he’s officially becoming a member of the LSU-specific Bayou Cat Crew, which is a member of The Players’ Lounge network. The quarterback inked an NFT deal earlier this spring with the company. And in this new role, he will be one of the featured members of this fan-driven NIL club.

To join the community, however, LSU fans have to purchase an NFT. A non-fungible token is a digital asset that represents real-world objects like art, music, in-game items and videos. They are bought and sold online, frequently with cryptocurrency.

After the Bayou faithful buy an NFT, they will have access to exclusive opportunities. Those include private chats with LSU athletes, behind-the-scenes content and in-person events with players.

Other members of the Bayou Cat Crew include Kayshon Boutte, John Emery Jr. and BJ Ojulari. Members of the Bayou Cat Crew may also get the chance to be involved in The Players’ Lounge –  Experiences. This will offer fans the chance to bid on unique, memorable and interactive experiences with their favorite athletes.

Brennan has not had the easiest path at LSU. The quarterback sat behind Danny Etling and later Heisman winner Joe Burrow for three years. When he finally got the chance as to start in 2020, he suffered a season-ending abdominal injury in Week 3.

This past season he broke his arm in the offseason and missed the entire year. But with Max Johnson deciding to transfer to Texas A&M following the departure of Ed Orgeron, Brennan opted to stay. Now he’s entrenched in a quarterback battle with Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels  and Garrett Nussmeier

Myles Brennan’s On3 NIL Valuation

The LSU quarterback currently holds an On3 NIL Valuation $172,000. He ranks No. 189 in On3’s college football NIL rankings. And with 114,000 social media followers, Myles Brennan holds a per post valuation of $1,300.

The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The On3 NIL 100 is the first of its kind and the defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by market valuation.

The Players’ Lounge had previous NFT success

The Players’ Lounge has already done this type of deal with NFTs in the college football world.

Recently, 11 members of Georgia’s national championship team were part of an NFT launch with DGD Mafia that sold out in 3 hours and raised more than $305,000 in sales. Each student-athlete received $28,000, according to Murray.

After that success, The Players’ Lounge said interest in digital communities at other schools shot through the roof. The group signed 13 players at LSU and communities are now being launched at Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Texas and North Carolina in coming weeks.

“Selling a limited number of NFTs to a specific fanbase then splitting the profits with student-athletes in that market is a new trend in the NIL collective space,” said Blake Lawrence, the co-founder and CEO of Opendorse, which is a company that works with schools and athletes to manage NIL activities.
