Pack of Wolves, a NIL collective to support NC State athletics, is one of the newest collectives joining the space. The Pack of Wolves website claims they’re committed to empowering student-athletes to make the most out of NIL, while creating meaningful and lasting connections between fans and athletes.

Scott Wood is the Executive Director for Pack of Wolves and is a former NC State basketball player. Pack of Wolves also boasts an advisory board and an executive board.

Members can join as individuals or as a business partners. Pack of Wolves says 100% of donations from individual members go to student-athletes. In return, members get exclusive content and access to NC State athletics. Individual members donate on a tiered donation system, where the more you pay monthly, the more you get out of being a member.

Meanwhile, business members will be able to help guide student-athletes in NIL. Individual donations without membership are allowed as well.

More than a dozen NC State student-athletes are already associated with Pack of Wolves. That includes compiling a list of NC State athletes with the best social media following. Katelyn Tuohy, a runner, Hailey Merchant, a gymnast, and Madison Hayes, a women’s basketball player are the three student-athletes with the best social media presence. Hayes is an ambassador for Pack of Wolves, and the collective believes it can help promote their brand.

“While we’re focusing our efforts today on taking care of our current athletes, our long-term goal is for every NC State student-athlete to be an ambassador for Pack of Wolves,” said Haze Lancaster, Pack of Wolves founding member.

NIL partnership with Inside Pack Sports

One of the benefits of membership is access to Inside Pack Sports’ Elite+ content. This is comprehensive and in-depth coverage of NC State athletics. It’s one of the benefits that is designed to help members feel closer to NC State athletics.

There will be a formal launch event between the new NC State NIL collective and Inside Pack Sports. However, no formal details have been announced.

Collectives, which are independent of a university, can serve a variety of purposes. Most often, they pool funds from boosters and businesses, help facilitate NIL deals for athletes. They also create their own ways for athletes to monetize their brands. Industry sources expect every Power 5 school to be affiliated with at least one NIL-related collective by the end of the year. Industry sources say several dozen yet-to-be-announced collectives are currently in the information-gathering stages.

Pack of Wolves hopes to join the list of powerful collectives across the country such as Florida’s Gator Guard or Tennessee’s Spyre Sports Group.
