Bo Nix decided to pass up entering the NFL draft this off-season.

The Oregon quarterback could have been one of the better prospects available in last month’s draft. Instead, he is back for a final season, giving the Ducks one of the top quarterbacks in college football.

Being able to profit from his name, image and likeness at Oregon certainly played a factor in his return. He is taking advantage of the opportunity, announcing plans Thursday to hold a youth football camp on July 15 in Eugene.

Open to ages ranging from six to 16, the camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST at North Eugene High School. Tickets are $125 and include a camp team photo with Nix, T-shirt and take-home items from event sponsors.

Represented by QB Reps, Nix is organizing the camp through FlexWork. Since the inception of NIL in July 2021, youth camps have become a popular way for athletes to monetize their publicity rights. It’s an easy way to provide fans and kids access to some of their favorite players. Plus, an opportunity to give back to their college’s community while creating a direct source of funding.

For Nix, he is one of the most recognizable athletes on Oregon’s campus and in the Eugene community. Hosting a youth football camp gives him the perfect opportunity to capitalize on that.

In his first year at Oregon, the quarterback threw for 27 touchdowns and just seven interceptions while leading the Ducks to a 10-3 record. He gelled quickly with offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham, who took the head coaching job at Arizona State; Dan Lanning brought in Will Stein to fill the role.

With Caleb Williams back at USC to defend his Heisman Trophy and Drake Maye the apparent challenger, Nix has quietly slid into the conversation ahead of this fall.

Bo Nix’s growing NIL brand

The Oregon quarterback has thrived off the field in NIL, too. He has not struggled to monetize his publicity rights, inking agreements with Topps, Subway, The Duck Store, ONIT, the Oregon-focused NIL collective Division Street and Bojangels. He signed with Bose in December, too.

Nix is really just getting started. As a returning starter at Oregon, he will be a name brands to keep their on eye throughout the fall. His 188,000 social media followers are also appealing.

He has a $1.5 million On3 NIL Valuation, which ranks No. 6 in college football. His valuation is No. 8 in the On3 NIL 100, which is the first of its kind and defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career. The On3 NIL Valuation calculates the optimized NIL opportunity for athletes relative to the overall NIL market and projects out to as long as 12 months into the future.
