South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler has one of the strongest NIL brands in college football. He also helped the Gamecocks engineer two of the biggest wins of the season against Tennessee and Clemson.

So, it’s only fitting brands continue to gravitate toward the star signal-caller. Take his latest NIL deal with Dick Dyer Mercedes-Benz for example.

As part of the partnership, Rattler is shown driving a garnet-colored Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. But the deal is more than a fancy whip.

He also promoted Dick Dyer Mercedes-Benz on his social media, which has grown this season to more than 597,000 followers.

Plus, Rattler will also make a personal appearance at 3-5 p.m. Saturday to sign autographs. Additionally, as part of the “exclusive meet and greet,” South Carolina fans are encouraged to bring an unwrapped Christmas present for children in need in the local community. The element of giving back to the community is something unique about Rattler’s latest NIL deal.

“Come out all Gamecock fans,” Rattler said in a tweet. “Will be fun!”

The agreement with Dick Dyer Mercedes-Benz is his second major deal since he threw for 438 yards and six touchdowns in the 63-38 victory over the Vols. He also recently announced a NIL relationship with Twyneo, a medication used for the treatment of acne. The terms of Rattler’s two latest deals were not released.

Spencer Rattler has ‘big decision’ ahead

NIL opportunities are expected to weigh heavily in Spencer Rattler’s upcoming decision on whether or not he returns for another season in Columbia.

Rattler will play in the Gator Bowl against Notre Dame. But he also told On3’s Gamecock Central he hasn’t decided if he’s going to declare for the 2023 NFL draft after the game.

“I’ll decide what I want to do after the bowl game,” Rattler said. “It’s definitely up in the air. I’ll talk to my family and coaches, so I’ll make an informed decision.”

If he were to return, there’s little question he has a major opportunity to make big bucks through his NIL.

For example, Garnet Trust, a South Carolina-focused NIL collective, previously signed Rattler to a multi-month content and endorsement NIL agreement. Plus, he’s racked up around a dozen NIL deals already. Surely that number would expand as one of college football’s top returning quarterbacks.

Spencer Rattler has strong On3 NIL Valuation

Spencer Rattler currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $884,000, a number that remained somewhat steady throughout the college football season.

The figure puts him at No. 17 on the On3 NIL College Football NIL Ranking. He is also No. 29 in the On3 NIL 100. The On3 NIL 100 is the first of its kind and the defacto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by market valuation.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athlete’s projected annual value (PAV).

A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation first establishes the overall NIL licensing market and expected growth rate to create a Brand Value Index. Then data from all Collectives is compiled into proprietary Roster Management software to create an industry-wide Roster Value Index. Brand Value and Roster Value market data is then combined to create the overall NIL market site.

Once the overall NIL market size has been established, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories:

+ Performance

+ Influence

+ Exposure

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career. The On3 NIL Valuation calculates the optimized NIL opportunity for athletes relative to the overall NIL market and projects out to as long as 12 months into the future. The On3 NIL Valuation is publicly available. Performance, Influence, and Exposure ratings along with an Athlete’s Roster and Brand Value are available only to the athlete in the “Athlete Verified” private dashboard on the On3 Athlete Network.
