It is make it or break it time for TCU, especially with a road test Saturday at Texas.

The Horned Frogs enter the weekend touting the fourth spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. They’re 9-0 for the first time since 2010, when they went on to win the Rose Bowl.

The coach of that team? Gary Patterson. He’s now with the Longhorns as a special assistant to the head coach. And it’s a no brainer to think he’s been scheming for this matchup for months.

A TCU win could clear a path to the College Football Playoff. Going undefeated and winning the Big 12 title will surely be enough for the committee. But a loss on the road? Probably not very forgiving.

But before kickoff, On3 is breaking down the top-five On3 NIL Valuations in the matchup.

1. Bijan Robinson

On3 NIL Valuation: $2 million
Position: Running Back
Per Post Value: $4,300
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 3

The Texas running back has quietly pieced together one of his top season in his college career. While Bijan Robinson‘s total rushing yards has not crossed the 1,000-yard threshold yet, he’s less than 300 away. And his 8.2 yards per carry is the best it has been in his three seasons in Austin. Plus, in Texas’ past three games, Robinson has averaged 198.3 yards from scrimmage per game. He’s forcing his way into the Heisman conversation, too. On top of the on-field success, NIL has not been a problem for Robinson. He launched his own mustard brand — Bijan Mustardson — this season. And most recently he re-upped his deal with Athletic Brewing Co. for another season and is starring in a national campaign for the brand.

2. Quinn Ewers

On3 NIL Valuation: $1 million
Position: Quarterback
Per Post Value: $2,500
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 179

Whenever Quinn Ewers‘ name comes up in conversation, typically NIL is one of the first topics brought up. Now in his first season with the Longhorns, the former five-star plus recruit left high school early to enroll at Ohio State. Mostly because he was able to cash in on a number of endorsement deals, which he wasn’t able to do as a high school athlete in Texas. Now he’s back home and still cashing in. The quarterback will be one of a small number of players in college football this season to make a seven-figure salary. His deal with Metabillia was reportedly worth $1 million alone. Ewers has shown why he was a highly-touted prospect coming out of high school on the field. The quarterback has thrown for 1,336 yards and 13 touchdown passes. He’s also been intercepted five times, including three against Oklahoma State.

3. Xavier Worthy

On3 NIL Valuation: $901,000
Position: Wide Receiver
Per Post Value: $2,000
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 149

Xavier Worthy has emerged as the top option in the Texas offense next to Bijan Robinson. The sophomore from Fresno, California, has nine touchdown catches in nine games this season, which ranks fifth in the nation. He’s also averaging 13.8 yards per catch and has developed into being Quinn Ewers’ top target. The wideout has found success in the NIL space, too. His Instagram following has exploded this season, now sitting at more than 112,000 followers. That number sat around 30,000 back in May. He’s inked NIL deals with Fortnite and appeared in an ad for Sonic next to his quarterback.

4. Max Duggan

On3 NIL Valuation: $472,000
Position: Quarterback
Per Post Value: $461
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 33

TCU has seemed to pull off comeback after comeback this season. A double overtime win over Oklahoma State in mid-October. The Horned Frogs let Texas Tech hang around last week before a fourth-quarter blowout. Max Duggan has been at the heart of the turnaround in Sonny Dykes‘ first year in Fort Worth. He’s thrown for 2,407 yards, 24 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Entering this week, his offense is second in the nation in yards per play, tied for third in scoring and fourth in total offense. And now, Texas. A matchup with Gary Patterson in Austin. Undefeated TCU could become a true College Football Playoff contender — in the eyes of the committee — if it can escape Austin with a win. “On Saturday, we have to prove ourselves against Texas,” the quarterback wrote this week in The Players’ Tribune.

5. Kendre Miller

On3 NIL Valuation: $342,000
Position: Running Back
Per Post Value: $281
On3 Impact 300 ranking: No. 65

A third-year junior, Kendre Miller has had at least one rushing touchdown in each game this season. And his 1,009 rushing yards this season ranks in the top 15 of college football. And while the Horned Frogs are an Air Raid-styled offensive attack, they’ve found balance thanks to Miller. They have no problem spreading the field and handing it off; the tailback is averaging 6.6 yards per carry. He has not been overly agressive in the NIL space, but Miller does have an agreement with the TCU-focused Think NIL collective. TCU is going to need the running back to deliver in Austin. His touches will probably increase, too, since wide receiver Quentin Johnston aggravated a lingering ankle injury last week.

About the On3 NIL Valuation

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories:

+ Performance
+ Influence
+ Exposure

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career. The On3 NIL Valuation calculates the optimized NIL opportunity for athletes relative to the overall NIL market and projects out to as long as 12 months into the future.
