USC is expected to hire veteran defensive coach Greg Brown as an analyst, sources tell On3.

Brown has 42 years of coaching experience. He worked in the NFL from 1984-86 and then from 1994-2005 as a defensive backs coach with the Atlanta Falcons, San Diego Chargers, Tennessee Oilers, San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons.

Brown then moved back to the college level in 2006 with Colorado and became the team’s defensive coordinator in 2011 after a stop at Arizona. He then worked at Alabama under Nick Saban (2013) along with stops at Louisville (2014-15), Missouri (2016), Auburn (2017-18), Purdue (2019-20) and then Charlotte as the 49ers’ defensive coordinator last season.

Brown has coached future NFL players such as Landon Collins, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Eddie Jackson at Alabama, Jaire Alexander at Louisville and others like Noah Igbinoghene, Jamel Dean and Carlton Davis at Auburn.

USC is entering its second season with Lincoln Riley as its head coach after finishing last year 11-3.
