2025 NASCAR Cup Series Championship odds: Betting lines updated after Iowa

The odds for who will stand above the field as the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series champion have been updated following this past weekend’s race at Iowa Speedway. William Byron was victorious, winning his first race since February’s Daytona 500.

Now, the Cup Series will return to road course racing. Upstate New York will be the home of this weekend’s race, with Watkins Glen International serving as the cathedral, and Shane van Gisbergen the favorite, per usual.

With that in mind, BetMGM Sportsbook has released its updated betting lines for which driver will stand above all at the end of the year as champion after all of the action in Iowa. Here’s where each wheelman stands entering Watkins Glen this coming weekend.

Kyle Larson (+375)

Once again, Kyle Larson squandered a solid starting position at Iowa. He rolled off P3, but contact with Chase Elliott, along with some other mistakes, meant a P28 finish for the Hendrick Motorsports star.

Thankfully, Larson is heading to a track he loves in Watkins Glen this coming weekend. He won there in both 2021 and 2022. We’ll see if he can get back to Victory Lane in New York this time around.

Christopher Bell (+450)

Christopher Bell started P17 at Iowa, and that’s where he finished, as well. Not his finest performance, as he was expected to be one of the contenders for the win on Sunday.

Looking ahead to Watkins Glen, Bell has performed well at the road course. He’s never finished below P14, so there’s some merit for a solid showing after a disappointing one in Iowa.

Denny Hamlin (+450)

Denny Hamlin didn’t have a fun weekend at Iowa. He finished P24, and the Toyota wheelman had plenty to say, disparaging the track in interviews following the race.

In his career, Hamlin only has one win at Watkins Glen. Perhaps No. 2 could come this time around, as he hopes to bounce back from a rough weekend at Iowa.

William Byron (+600)

Talk about taking care of business. William Byron started on the front row, and he saved just enough fuel to hang on to win at Iowa Speedway over the weekend. Win No. 2 of 2025 in the bank for the No. 24 team.

Perhaps this will be the start of a little hot streak for Byron. He won at Watkins Glen in 2023, so we could see him end up in Victory Lane again in 2025.

Ryan Blaney (+650)

Ryan Blaney won last season’s race in Iowa, but he couldn’t make it back to back at the track. Instead, the Team Penske wheelman was forced to settle for P4.

Last season, Blaney had a rough showing at Watkins Glen, finishing P38. We’ll see what he has in store for 2025, and if he can bounce back. His best finish at the track is P5 (2019).

Chase Elliott (+800)

Chase Elliott got tangled up with his teammate in Kyle Larson at Iowa. It put a damper on both of their afternoons, as the No. 9 Chevrolet team had to salvage a P14 finish out of their trip to Iowa.

Watkins Glen is a special track for Elliott. He won his first race in Upstate New York back in 2018, and he won again at the track in 2019. Win No. 3 could be on the horizon this time around.

Chase Briscoe (+1200)

Chase Briscoe started on the pole, and he came one positions shy of winning from there. The Joe Gibbs Racing wheelman finished as the runner-up at Iowa.

Watkins Glen has been a mixed bag for Briscoe in his Cup Series career. He’s finished P6 and P9, but sandwiched between those are finishes of P25 and P35. We’ll see what side wins out on Sunday.

Tyler Reddick (+1600)

Without a win on the season, Tyler Reddick needs all the points he can get. He’s in a solid spot, but a P19 finish like he notched at Iowa won’t help if he continues to stack them up.

In his Cup career, Reddick has three top 10s at Watkins Glen. Last season though, he finished P27. We’ll see if he can get back on track in New York in 2025.
