Big Ten Championship odds: FanDuel releases line on potential Ohio State vs. Oregon matchup
Although The Game still needs to be played this weekend in Columbus, Vegas has already released a line for what would be a top-two matchup between No. 1 Oregon and No. 2 Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship.
Per the early odds at FanDuel, Ohio State has opened as a 3.5-point favorite over Oregon in this possible title game in Indianapolis. That has the Ducks, the current top team in the nation which remains the only undefeated team left, with value at (+130) on the moneyline. The total for the game is then at a total of 53.5 points with the over at (-105) and the under at (-115).
Oregon has already clinched their spot in the Big Ten Championship during their debut season in the league. They’re the only undefeated team left in college football at 11-0 and, with that, have all but officially clinched a spot in the CFP. It’s just a matter of whether the Ducks will have a first-round bye after winning the conference title or be a highly-seeded at-large with a loss.
Ohio State is then a game away from clinching a berth in the Big Ten Championship as they’ll play Michigan this weekend. It’s already a huge deal for the Buckeyes to end a three-game losing streak to their rival but will be even more of one in order to get them to Indy over Indiana and Penn State. From there, it’s just them and the Ducks to determine who will be one of the top byes and who will be one of the first at-larges for the playoff.

No. 3 Oregon won at 32-31 over No. 2 Ohio State back on October 12th at Autzen Stadium in Eugene in one of the best games of the regular season this fall. It was close throughout with neither team getting more than a possession’s lead over the other. In the end, though, the Ducks took the lead back with a field goal with under two to play before Will Howard ended the game in regrettable fashion with a slide where he wasn’t down in time before the clock expired.
If all goes as expected this weekend, No. 1 Oregon vs. No. 2 Ohio State is your likeliest matchup for the Big Ten Championship. From there, it’ll not only be for a conference title but will almost certainly decide who will be the No. 1 and No. 5 seeds respectively come the selections for the College Football Playoff.
