The Dallas Cowboys did not finish building their 2022 team with the draft, as they signed another pair of undrafted free agents Saturday night. TCU safety La’Kendrick Van Zandt and Boston College center Alec Lindstrom are two of the newest players to join the Cowboys and fight for roster spots this offseason.

Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network detailed the signing of Lindstrom, while NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero outlined the signing of Van Zandt. After a draft that saw the Cowboys focus on the talent available with the 24th pick, Dallas selected a pair of offensive linemen and one pick on their secondary. Lindstrom and Van Zandt both will be looked at to provide depth at their positions, as they make the leap to the NFL as undrafted free agents.

Van Zandt played four seasons with TCU and showcased his playmaking ability throughout his career in a number of ways. He finished his career with three interceptions, three fumble recoveries and two sacks. He joins a young secondary along with fifth-round draft pick, cornerback DaRon Bland from Fresno State.

Lindstrom enters the NFL behind a pair of family members who entered before him — father Chris Lindstrom Sr. and brother Chris Lindstrom Jr. — as one of the best centers in the nation last year. Lindstrom’s brother, Chris, was selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. Alec Lindstrom won the starting position at Boston College in 2019 and earned All-ACC honors for three straight seasons. Lindstrom was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy last year, awarded to the nation’s top center.

Dallas will look to bolster their offensive line with Lindstrom’s signing, and their first-round draft selection of tackle Tyler Smith from Tulsa.
