Danny DeVito made fun of Eli Manning by impersonating him during the Monday Night Football ManningCast. After the ManningCast showed DeVito and Eli Manning’s Jersey Mike’s Subs commercial, Peyton Manning asked DeVito to do his best Eli impression.

“Hey, everybody, want to hear another story about me beating the Patriots?” Danny DeVito said in his best Eli Manning voice. “Hey Peyton, stop sending me voice memos. They go on forever, just like your forehead.”

DeVito went on to make fun of Eli bragging about using the subway in New York. He then poked fun at the two-time Super Bowl champion for having his mouth open and not saying anything.”

Eli Manning was not on-screen when DeVito was impersonating him because DeVito was seeking to take Manning’s spot on the ManningCast. But when the former New York Giants star returned, he seemed unbothered.

“I’m good. I’m enjoying my sub here,” Manning said. “Y’all can go back.” DeVito was looking to “replace” Manning on the ManningCast because the Jersey Mike’s commercial showed Manning “taking DeVito’s job” as the company’s spokesperson.

In August, Jersey Mike’s announced that Manning is the company’s newest spokesperson in response to being the official sub of the NFL. The national campaign features DeVito, a longtime Jersey Mike’s frontman, going after Manning for “stealing” his job.

“Eli’s charm and low-key wit combined with Danny’s big personality make for an unforgettable duo,” Jeff Hemschoot, senior vice president of marketing, Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, LLC, said in a press release in August. “As a proud New Jersey resident and longtime Jersey Mike’s fan, Eli was a natural fit. He’s one of Jersey’s most iconic sports figures, and we’re thrilled to have him on our team.”

“This campaign was the perfect way to kick off Jersey Mike’s new NFL partnership—with humor, star power, and a little friendly rivalry,” said Mark Gross, co-founder and co-chief creative officer at Highdive. “We leaned into Danny’s longtime role with the brand and had fun imagining what happens when someone like Eli tries to steal a little of his spotlight.”
