Did Noah Gragson pay tribute to Tim Richmond's infamous NSFW All-Star Race group photo?

In any group of drivers, there’s always going to be a jokester. Noah Gragson has been studying up on his Tim Richmond history, apparently. The LEGACY Motor Club driver played a sly prank during the group photo for the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro. These NASCAR drivers are something else…

You would have to really look at the All-Star photo to see it. It’s just a little flash of his finger. But Noah Gragson was for sure trying to pull a fast one on NASCAR, Harrison Burton, and just about every fan out there. It looked awfully familiar.

For those that don’t know, it was rumored that in the 1987 All-Star photo, Tim Richmond pulled his genitals out as a joke. You can just barely make it out in the photo on the poster. Allegedly, it was the end of a cane that he brought in and slipped through his firesuit.

This is either paying homage or a case of two great minds thinking alike. Here’s the Gragson photo. Just an innocent finger on Harrison Burton’s shoulder.

Now here is the full poster from 1987. Remember this may or may not be NSFW depending on which side of the Richmond story you fall on.

It is good that Noah Gragson got to have a little bit of fun this weekend. Otherwise, it was a tough go of things for the rookie Cup Series driver. He had to earn every lap that he drove this weekend at North Wilkesboro.

Noah Gragson wrecks in Open, wins All-Star fan vote

Despite a really rough race in the All-Star Open, Noah Gragson turned out alright. He didn’t have to win the race or finish second to advance to the All-Star Race. The rookie did it on his popularity alone. He won the fan vote but at what cost?

During the Open race, Gragson found the inside wall while coming in too tight on Turn 1. It put him up the track and he caused a four-car pileup. It was ugly business. His car was able to keep driving, but not very well.

With his win in the fan vote, Noah Gragson and his team got to work. Well, mostly his team. The LEGACY M.C. garage got to work under NASCAR supervision and was able to do whatever they had to do to put a legal and repaired car on the track. All-Star weekend has looser rules around repairs like this.

So, it was up and down for Noah. At least he’s got a picture that he’ll remember for a lifetime.
