Former NFL running back Kapri Bibbs, who played for three teams during a five-year career, was arrested in Los Angeles for public intoxication. TMZ Sports reported the news this week.

Per the report, police placed Bibbs in handcuffs at Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica. The incident occurred late Sunday night and he was reportedly booked early Monday morning.

Other details surrounding the arrest were not available. The former running back was recently from jail a few hours later. Bibbs was hit with a misdemeanor citation for the offense. He’s due in court in July.

At this time, Bibbs has not commented on the incident.

Kapri Bibbs spent five seasons in the NFL

Bibbs enjoyed a five-year career in the NFL after playing college football at Colorado State. He went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft but landed a spot with the Denver Broncos, where he spent the first two-and-a-half years of his career.

Bibbs played for Denver from 2014-16 and was a member of the team’s Super Bowl 50-winning squad. During his time with the Broncos, he totaled 29 carries for 129 yards. He also caught two passes for 75 yards and a touchdown.

The running back spent an offseason with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017 but was waived prior to the start of the season. He then played for the Washington Commanders through the 2017 season and into 2018. Bibbs finished his career with the Green Bay Packers in 2018.

Bibbs ended his career with three rushing touchdowns, all of those coming with the Commanders in 2018. In his five NFL seasons, the running back rushed for 311 yards and accounted for six total touchdowns.

Prior to entering the NFL, Bibbs spent one season at Colorado State. A transfer from Snow College and Front Range Community College, the running back shined bright in his lone season with the Rams.

In 2013, Bibbs rushed for an impressive 1,741 yards and 31 touchdowns on 281 yards. He maintained a 6.2 yards per carry average for the year. He led the country in rushing touchdowns and ranked sixth nationally in total yards on the ground.

Colorado State enjoyed an 8-6 campaign that year, which included a 48-45 win over Washington State in the New Mexico Bowl to close out the season.
