The Green Bay Packers and New York Jets have released their respective Wednesday injury reports ahead of Sunday’s matchup. The biggest news of it – reigning two-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers did not practice on Wednesday while nursing his injured right thumb – but Packers fans shouldn’t worry.

“He’s not going to practice today,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said before Wednesday’s practice. “But I don’t think we have much concern as far as game day.”

Elsewhere for Green Bay, offensive linemen David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins continue their weeks long recoveries from their injuries, while second-round draft choice Christian Watson’s nagging hamstring has continued to keep him off the field.

The Packers first-rounder, Devonte Wyatt, was able to practice in a limited capacity, while linebacker Topa Galeai’s hamstring injury forced him to the sidelines Wednesday.

Here is the full list for both teams:

Packers:

Limited Participation: T David Bakhtiari (knee), OL Elgton Jenkins (knee), DL Devonte Wyatt (quad)

Did Not Practice: LB Tipa Galeai (hamstring), WR Christian Watson (hamstring), QB Aaron Rodgers (right thumb)

Brett Favre responds to Mississippi welfare scandal: ‘I have done nothing wrong’

Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre has broken his silence on allegations that he was involved in the misuse of Mississippi welfare funds. Favre was at the center of a scandal that claimed he helped facilitate the misuse of government money designated for welfare projects, instead having the money used to build a volleyball wellness center at the University of Southern Mississippi where his daughter played volleyball.

Favre released a statement via Fox News that he has “done nothing wrong” and was looking to set the record straight about his involvement in the scandal.

“I have been unjustly smeared in the media,” Favre said in his statement. “I have done nothing wrong, and it is past time to set the record straight.

“No one ever told me, and I did not know, that funds designated for welfare recipients were going to the University or me. I tried to help my alma mater USM, a public Mississippi state university, raise funds for a wellness center. My goal was and always will be to improve the athletic facilities at my university.”
