Jordan Spieth is doing Jordan Spieth things at the PGA Championship. The PGA Tour star — known for being overly critical of himself on the course — dropped a few NSFW words after hitting a poor iron shot during his third round.

Spieth snuck into the weekend cut after shooting +5 through the first two rounds from Oak Hill Country Club. Things didn’t get much better on Saturday. That’s when we saw, and heard, some colorful language from the three-time major champion.

Spieth wasn’t too pleased with one (or several) iron shots throughout his third round. Things boiled over on one hole, leading the 29-year-old to spout out a few choice words.

“Damnit!” Spieth said. “Hit one good f***ing iron shot!”

But that might not even be the best part of the video. The “Hm, I don’t think he liked that one,” from the broadcast booth was simply perfect.

This type of action isn’t really uncommon from Spieth. He’s his harshest critic on the golf course. But it never fails to provide a laugh when the golf star drops a few choice words that get picked up by a hot mic.

Spieth is still considered one of the top stars on the PGA Tour but it’s been awhile since he’s claimed a major championship. The last victory in a major? Winning the Open Championship in 2017.

Iron-ically (see what we did there?) the only major missing from Spieth’s collection? The PGA Championship.

Brooks Koepka uses poor word choice during PGA Championship

Spieth isn’t the only professional golfer going viral for his word choice. LIV Golf’s Brooks Koepka also made a blunder on the microphone — though his was completely unintentional.

During a PGA Championship presser, a reporter asked Koepka about slow pace of play on the course. He agreed that the issue needs addressed. When asked to provide a solution, the four-time major winner answered with a mature-audiences-only response.

“Honestly, I’d start stroking guys,” Koepka said. “If you’re gonna take that long, you gotta get stroked.”

Can’t imagine why that got so much attention on social media.

In other, more family friendly words, Koepka would like to see players receive a stroke penalty if they’re taking too long between shots. He acknowledged that, at times, things out of a player’s control can factor into the equation. In general, though, he thinks something needs to happen.

“There’s a lot of guys out here that take their time. I think it is a problem,” Koepka said. “I mean, technically, in the rule book it says you have 40 seconds to hit your shot — I think is what it is. If you go over, technically you’re breaking the rules, right?”

Koepka makes some good points. He just … needs to think about word choice next time.
