In the Bill Bigley Sr. Memorial 128, it wasn’t Ty Majeski or Carson Hocevar, NASCAR stars, who came away victorious. George Gorham Jr. and his No. 10 team ran away from the field, gapping Majeski by 8 seconds and Hocevar by 12.

These races that take place after the NASCAR season are so much fun. Everyone who races these Late Models all year round is in their top form. Then these NASCAR guys come in and try to win a few big checks and trophies. It raises the level of competition across the board.

Gorham had the race of a lifetime. To take down Ty Majeski, a NASCAR Truck Series champion, and Carson Hocevar, a Cup Series talent and future star of the sport, is impressive. Gorham got the job done and took the big check home this time. $30,000 for winning by 8 seconds over Majeski.

The Super Late Model race was a good one. Freedom Factory, owned by part-time ARCA driver Cleetus McFarland, is a track that hosts a number of big races each year. The Bigley Memorial has been a fixture for a decade now, and the prize money draws in tons of great drivers and teams.

Huge props to George Gorham Jr. on the massive win. He’s going to remember this one for a long time.

“This is a dream come true,” Gorham said, via Racing America. “Thanks to all of you fans for sticking us out. Guys, we work 40 hours a week, bust our ass, excuse my language, to make this happen.

“All my guys have got full-time jobs. We ain’t no big team. We spend every dollar we’ve got to do this. I can’t thank Ricky and his crew enough for putting on these races. Ty Majeski, Hocevar, all of them for coming down. My brother-in-law Mario, Vince, Lamar, my wife Michelle. My father-in-law would be so proud. He’s up in heaven. This is for him right here. This is the best thing going.”

Carson Hocevar could have breakthrough 2026 season

There were times in the 2025 season where it felt like Carson Hocevar was going to break through and win a race. That didn’t happen, however, 2026 should be yet another year of improvement. Spire Motorsports is bringing Daniel Suárez into the organization in the No. 7 car after relieving Justin Haley of his duties. It is going to be a very interesting trio at Spire.

Spire has expanded and improved. It is difficult to do those two things at the same time. You can look at teams like RFK Racing, Front Row, and 23XI Racing, who all expanded, and you could argue that they, in many ways, took a step back in 2025. Spire really didn’t.

Carson Hocevar is a talented young driver. So, the expectations are going to be high. When you are tabbed as the next face of rebellion in NASCAR, you have to back it up. Hocevar will have to find a way to maintain his aggressive racing style and attitude while also managing to not make anyone too upset in the process. A delicate balance, but one that could lead to a lot of success if he’s able to strike it perfectly.
