The Green Bay Packers appear in good position once again in the NFC North in 2022. But they still have some question marks, and Sports Illustrated NFL insider Albert Breer shared the area he needs the Packers to address during training camp.

Green Bay locked up two-time reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers with a big contract extension over the offseason, but traded his star receiver, Davante Adams, to the Las Vegas Raiders. That means the Packers will have to replace Adams’ production — but that’s not where Breer thinks the Packers have the biggest questions.

Instead, he’s looking up front. David Bakhtiari didn’t play last year as he recovered from a torn ACL and Elgton Jenkins is still coming back from a knee injury of his own. The Packers isn’t in a rush to get them back, according to Breer, and that means they’ll need someone to step up if those two can’t play right away.

“The biggest questions are up front,” Breer tweeted. “David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins aren’t going to be rushed back (no one’s ruling out Week 1, but the staff won’t put timelines on those guys). As a result, Josh Myers, Jon Runyan and Royce Newman are important summer figures in GB.”

NFL insider Albert Breer offers solution to Packers question mark at wide receiver

Questions at wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers is nothing new. The No. 1 criticism in year’s past has been the franchise’s inability to put playmakers around Aaron Rodgers. They enter 2022 with even more questions after the offseason trade of two-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams.

The early observations from Sports Illustrated NFL Reporter Albert Breer, though, suggests one receiver is starting strong in training camp. He says Romeo Doubs, a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, is making a name for himself with his play and connection with the quarterbacks.

Doubs was a three star prospect and a top-250 wide receiver from the Class of 2018, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average. He played four seasons at Nevada where he caught 225 balls for 3,322 yards and 26 touchdowns.

With Adams gone, the Packers have cobbled together a receiving corp for their back to back MVP quarterback to work with. Some familiar names include Allen LazardSammy WatkinsRandall Cobb and rookie Christian Watson. Based on Breer’s inspections, Doubs is working his way into that group.
