Padraig Harrington enters Sunday as the 54-hole leader in the 2023 Senior PGA Championship (-16), holding a one-shot lead over Steve Stricker (-15).

At one point, Harrington was on track to break the 54-hole scoring record. The 51-year-old’s bladder, however, had other ideas. The Irishman found a port-a-potty, but had trouble with the door, resulting in him having to rush to hit his next shot. A bit flustered after the port-a-potty fiasco, Harrington hit his next shot in an area with native grasses en route to scoring a double-bogey.

“As we are on the Champions tour, I had the longest pee ever,” Harrington said after his third-round 68, via ESPN. “And then I kind of rushed down the fairway and hit my shot. I just wasn’t focused, I wasn’t into it and I hit a bad shot in the hazard. That’s my excuse. That’s got to be original, I would assume.”

After “The longest pee ever,” the three-time major winner’s once six-shot lead on the back nine dwindled to a single shot lead over Stricker. Additionally, he fell one stroke off Sam Snead’s 50-year-old Senior PGA record for 54 holes.

Stricker, meanwhile, extended his PGA Tour Champions-record streak of rounds of par or better to 48 in a row. The 12-time PGA Tour winner has finished in the top-8 in each of his first eight Champions starts.

“That’s a fun position to be in, to try to be aggressive and you really got nothing to lose, you’re trying to move your way up the leaderboard,” Stricker said.

John Daly rips PGA over course conditions after injury and withdrawal from Senior PGA Championship

In an alternate universe, John Daly is battling Harrington and Stricker to claim the 2023 Senior PGA Championship. Unfortunately, we were robbed of this possible outcome. Daly, 57, withdrew from the tournament Thursday. He made sure to let the PGA Tour know about how difficult their tee boxes made it for him to compete.

“So hard to play tee boxes that are down grade,” Daly tweeted. “Golf course is great but I wish they would make their tee boxes level! We are not young anymore!! Some guys are ADA and we can not follow through on down hill tee boxes!! I’m sorry.

“@PGA you are going the wrong way in golf but I love y’all. But you are making holes really really long.. St Andrew’s never had a downhill tee box. Quit while your NOT ahead…. Thank you.”
