Just in case Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan had any chance of salvaging their fractured relationship, Scottie Pippen made sure to destroy any chance of that happening.

On Friday, Pippen decided to dip his toes into the “greatest player of all-time” debate and in the process, make sure that he’ll likely never get another phone call from Michael Jordan ever again.

Check out his rant below.

In the rant, Pippen declared that “LeBron will be the greatest statistical guy to ever play the game of basketball. There’s no comparison to him. None. So, does that make him the greatest player ever to play the game? I’ll leave that up for debating,” Pippen said.

It’s not a surprise to see Pippen side with LeBron in the LeBron/MJ debate. Ever since “The Last Dance,” Pippen has had some endless axe to grind against Jordan because he didn’t like how he was portrayed in the miniseries.

Which by the way, Jordan even stated in “The Last Dance” that he wouldn’t have won six rings without Scottie Pippen and that he was the greatest teammate that he ever played with. I’m not sure what else you want from the GOAT himself. But that was not enough for Scottie. The damage had clearly been done.

Pippen decided to let everyone know something that nobody will ever truly believe. That Michael Jordan was a horrible player. He said this with a straight face. This is the very man that he won six NBA Championships with.

Michael needed Scottie and Scottie needed Michael. They were one of the greatest duos in NBA history. Batman and Robin. They made music together on the basketball court. But Pippen burned the bridge of all bridges on Friday afternoon.

“I’ve seen Michael Jordan before I came to play with the Bulls. You guys have seen him play. He was a horrible player. He was horrible to play with. He was all one-on-one. He’s shooting bad shots. And all of a sudden, we become a team and we start winning. Everybody forgot who he was,” Pippen said on Friday.

As a die-hard Bulls fan, it’s been sickening to watch Pippen ruin his and the Bulls’ legacy over the years. Ever since the release of “The Last Dance,” it’s been an ugly scene.

The Chicago Bulls were one of the purest things in sports history. They were the perfect team. Sure, nothing is perfect, but it would have been nice for it to be left in its own little bubble of perfection. Pippen could have kept his comments to himself. And Bulls fans would have loved him forever. Not anymore. Now, he just looks like an endlessly bitter, angry man, who’s never going to be happy.

Not only that, Pippen is a businessman now. He recently launched a healthy popcorn called HUSK. He also recently launched his own brand of liquor, Digits Bourbon.

You want to know what’s really bad business? Ripping your old teammate who happens to be the most beloved basketball player of all-time. Pippen should have aired his grievances privately with Jordan. And ultimately, he should have decided to just let some things go. Because, quite frankly, it does him no good to do what he did on Friday. None. Nearly all of Pippen’s fans are fans of Jordan and vice versa. Good luck selling those products to drastically fewer people. Because Michael Jordan fans and millions of basketball fans worldwide won’t stand for the Jordan slander.
