Trevor Lawrence injury update: Doug Pederson reveals QB's status vs. Texans
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9) head coach Doug Pederson said Friday he expects quarterback Trevor Lawrence to play in Sunday’s Week 13 home game against the Houston Texans (7-5).
“He’s had a good week,” Pederson said, via Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union. “Done some really good things this week. I would say as of right now, yes, he will play.”
Lawrence, 25, has missed the last two games, sidelined with a sprained left shoulder. He sustained the injury in the Week 9 road defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles (9-2), though it didn’t cause him to miss a snap.
Lawrence didn’t rule out surgery while speaking with the media on Wednesday.

“I think [the sprained AC joint] has been a pretty difficult thing to gauge, honestly, of what’s the best path forward,” Lawrence said, via Michael DiRocco of ESPN. “[Surgery is] definitely something that I’m considering and not off the table at all. It’s something that we’re going to have to just [approach] truly day-by-day, week-by-week.

“Hopefully I’m able to get back out there this week or as soon as possible and then it’s going to be just every week kind of evaluating it, seeing where it’s at. Obviously up until this point I’ve been doing everything I can to avoid that and want to be back out there with my guys and finish the season. So that’s my goal.”
In nine games this season, Lawrence has thrown for 2,004 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions on 61.3% passing. In two games without Lawrence, games in which Mac Jones started, the Jaguars managed just a combined 313 yards and scored 13 combined points in losses to the Minnesota Vikings (9-2) and Detroit Lions (11-1).
