2026 QB Cash Herrera commits to Boise State Broncos

San Diego The Bishop’s School three-star quarterback Cash Herrera has committed to Boise State, he announced on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3 signal-caller took an official visit to Boise after decommitting from Indiana on Nov. 20. He’s now locked in with the Broncos ahead of National Signing Day. Herrera is also a former Iowa commit.

“The visit was awesome,” Herrera told Rivals’ Greg Biggins after the trip to Idaho. “It was cool to check the environment out and be able to connect with the coaching staff … They have a great staff in place and coach D (Spencer Danielson) is doing a great job there. He’s more than just a coach and really cares about the players on and off the field.”

Herrera is the No. 62 QB and No. 85 player in California in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He checks in as the No. 1,113 prospect overall.

Quarterback recruiting has been a whirlwind for Boise State this cycle. First, four-star Bryson Beaver flipped to Oregon this summer. This fall, four-star Tradon Bessinger flipped to Iowa. Cursed by being first on stock-up arms, head coach Spencer Danielson and Co. have had to pivot multiple times.

Herrera now joins Los Angeles Thousand Oaks three-star QB Jackson Taylor in the Boise State class. Taylor, the No. 49 QB in the cycle, has been pledged to the Mountain West program since June 21.

Boise now has 28 total commits in its 2026 class with National Signing Day on Wednesday. The class checks in at No. 58 in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, good for the top mark in the Mountain West and the entire G5. The full Broncos pledge list can be seen here.
