2027 Peach State CB Brexton Bell commits to Maryland

Brexton Bell has double-digit offers. One is from Maryland. Mike Locksley and the Terrapins offered the 2027 cornerback out of Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day in August and he has committed to the Big Ten program.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback announced his commitment to Maryland, choosing the Terrapins over North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest.
“Maryland has been on me hard,” Bell told Rivals. “Coach Liguet and Coach Likely have been in constant contact with me. They made sure I knew they had a home for me and that they wanted me. They see me as a great fit in their scheme, and how they recruited me made a big difference in my decision.”
Multiple programs were heavily involved, but Maryland’s consistency and vision ultimately stood out.
“They laid out a plan for me. They see me making an early impact, and that was huge. Playing time and player development were very big in my recruitment, and I see a great opportunity at Maryland.”

Bell visited College Park early in the season, and that trip changed the course of his recruitment.
“The visit was great. Maryland’s coaches showed me around, I got the tour, saw the facilities, and they made me feel at home. The hospitality was amazing, and I can’t wait to get back. I’ll be back for the Michigan game too.”
While his original plan was to commit at the end of his junior year, Maryland’s approach and atmosphere made the timing feel right.
“I didn’t plan to commit this early,” Bell said. “But I just had that feeling about Maryland. I went to Maryland blindly, and since that visit and building those relationships, I knew. My plan was to wait, but this is what I’m feeling — I’m all in.”
Bell is confident in the program’s direction under head coach Mike Locksley and the development he’ll receive in College Park.
“I believe in Coach Locksley and the staff at Maryland,” Bell said. “They can develop players. That’s my goal. I want to play in the NFL.”
