Miss a few hours and a a new offer in for Kamauri Whitfield may pass one by these days.

The class of 2027 two-way star out of Orlando (Fla.) First Academy has been on fire this offseason from a recruiting standpoint. He has added more than two dozen new offers since the year began, and recent camp stops have added to the list.

After a June 15 trek to Tallahassee to work out with coaches at Florida State, the chance to add to the list came and went.

To the surprise of few, the good news came in. Mike Norvell and company followed suit, but not many around the rising-junior recruit realized how earning this one hits different.

“Way different,” Whitfield told Rivals. “FSU is my dream school.

“It felt amazing, like one of the best feelings.”

The tender came from Norvell himself, citing the versatility and competitiveness the new Seminole target shows on the field as a primary reason why.

“He’s a great coach,” Whitfield said.

Florida State will vault up Whitfield’s list

The emerging talent previously told Rivals Nebraska and Florida had broken through as early contenders with his attention compared to others.

As the dream school enters the mix, it won’t likely be overlooked.

“Ever since I’ve started to know football or to even watch it, FSU was the one that I was always interested in,” Whitfield said. “From going to the games when I was younger, when they were a dominant program winning, to just last year when they barley won any games…

“They’ve always been my favorite.”

With so many options now on the table for the two-way standout, who has been earning more tenders as a secondary projection than at wide receiver of late, there is no rush to accelerate this recruitment.

As the options pile up, additional trips and visits are to soon be scheduled as the 2025 college football season draws near.
