Indianapolis-area QB Anthony Coellner commits to Boston College
Carmel (Ind.) High 2026 quarterback Anthony Coellner announced his commitment to Boston College on Friday.
The Hoosier State passer took his official visit this past Monday and Tuesday.
“My family and I had a great visit to Boston College,” Coellner said. “The campus and facilities definitely stood out to me, and the overall vibe of the team was very high going into playing Syracuse this week. I also really enjoyed watching Coach O’Brien coach and lead his team during practice.
“Some of the big takeaways that set Boston College apart from other schools are their academics, history, and tradition. This combined with the opportunity to get developed by Coach O’Brien and Coach DiBiaso, as well as the chance to compete for an ACC championship all led to why I chose BC!”
Coellner becomes commit No. 24 for O’Brien and the Eagles in the 2026 class.
As a senior Coellner completed nearly 72 percent of his passes for 1,737 yards and 18 touchdowns to seven interceptions with 583 more rushing yards and 11 more scores.

“His ability to make plays, his ability to move the ball up and down the field,” Carmel High head coach Kevin Wright said of Coellner’s game. “He makes checks, he made a lot of lot of nice checks at the line of scrimmage. He has a lot of ability to make decisions I don’t make for him.
“Throwing the ball downfield, he’s always been able to do but you see the RPO throws. He hangs in there. He’s a freak athlete. He was 4.61 laser at the Elite 11 in Atlanta and like a 42-inch vertical. He’s become one of the most underrated quarterbacks I’ve seen.”
