Pike Road (Ala.) linebacker Braylon Outlaw committed to Tennessee in November of 2024. In October, almost a year after his commitment to the Vols, he opened his recruitment back up. The 6-foot, 200-pounder decommitted after his official visit to Georgia Tech and he has now committed to Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets.

“I made the decision back during the season,” Outlaw told Rivals. “I had that feeling when I was sitting in Coach Key’s office on my official visit.”

The Yellow Jackets offered early and maintained steady contact, even while Outlaw was committed elsewhere. At first, he didn’t look too closely.

“They got on me early, back in the spring. I didn’t think too much about it because I was committed to Tennessee. But this fall is when I really started looking and thinking about them.

“I went to the Temple and Syracuse games and I knew it. The visits were big for me. The second one was the official visit, and it set the tone. It was a great atmosphere, and they treated me great. That is when I really felt it.”

The fit on and off the field excited Outlaw

Outlaw saw the Yellow Jackets win two games in Bobby Dodd Stadium in the middle of downtown Atlanta. He likes what he is going into on the Flats.

“The direction they are heading excites me,” Outlaw said. “They’re on the rise as a program and good things are coming. Coach Key is a great coach with a great mentality.

“I like the environment too. Georgia Tech is in a big city and it a cool place. I like a lot about the program and what is around it.”

Outlaw likes the fit in the defense too. Darius Banks is his lead recruiter.

“Coach Eubanks is my main guy and I love him. He’s a cool person, he can coach, and we text or call every other day. He sees me as a linebacker and hybrid type, and I fit well in that role. I am excited to get over there.”

Outlaw finished the season with 80 tackles, 4 sacks, and 3 interceptions. He added 11 touchdowns on offense.
