Louisville picks up commitment from big Florida TE recruit Julius Miles

Julius Miles had a big rise in the spring months and on Saturday, it resulted in a verbal commitment to Louisville football.
The Freeport (Fla.) High School standout, who was also one of Florida’s leading prep scorers in basketball as a junior, will play tight end for Jeff Brohm and company next year.
“They have been on me the hardest since I was a sophomore,” Miles told Rivals. “The whole staff has had a plan and vision for me the whole time. I feel like I can come in and make a early impact for the team and be able to perform for a staff that is fully behind me and that believes in me.”
The newest Cardinal says it was a group effort to pull one of the biggest pass catchers out of the Sunshine State.
“All the coaches were on me hard about the plan and vision for me to come there, but overall the guy that I will be with the most is Coach (Ryan) Wallace,” he said. “He is my guy! He’s put so much effort into me and my family and has believed in me since I was a sophomore in high school.”
From well before the official visit, the allure of a potential pass-first offense with Brohm’s track record kept UofL squarely in the mix.
“Louisville always makes it feel like home,” Miles said. “The system they present to me is great and they need a day-1, impact tight end and see me doing that. They plan on using me as an, overall, well-rounded tight end that can do it all.

“I fit because they want and need a tight end that can do the things I can do in their offense. They haven’t had an athletic, versatile tight end like me in long time.”
Louisville continues to shine in the Sunshine State
One of the appeals for the latest Floridian to join the 2026 class at Louisville is the run it has been on nationally, but also within state lines.
“It’s also a loaded class!” Miles said of his decision.
The nearly 6-foot-7 tight end, who hauled in 59 passes for 895 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior, joins defensive back Jaydin Broadnax, wide receiver DJ Williams and pass rusher Jon Adams among Floridians to pick the program in this cycle.
The overall haul now sits at 20 verbal commitments, inching towards the top-30 of the national rankings to date.
