Miami flips 4-star CB Brody Jennings from Michigan

Jacksonville Mandarin four-star cornerback Brody Jennings has flipped his commitment from Michigan to Miami, according to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett.
Jennings was pledged to the Wolverines since July 28 of last summer, but after a stern push from the Hurricanes, he’s now set to stay in-state and play in Coral Gables next season.
He is the No. 294 overall prospect and No. 29 corner in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 41 player in Florida.
Despite his early commitment to U-M, Jennings always kept his options open. Miami was always in the mix, but it really turned up the heat this spring. He returned for an official visit on the weekend of May 30.
“This visit has been great, and I don’t know if any other school is topping this official visit,” Jennings told CaneSport after the trip. “Not even just seeing everyone, but the coaches as well. Coach Cristobal is a great coach, along with Coach Harris and Coach Etheridge. They were great overall.”
Miami now has four blue-chip corners in 2026 class
The addition of Jennings pushes Miami back into the top 10 of the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. He also gives the Hurricanes a fourth blue-chip cornerback pledge this cycle, forming one of the best position group hauls across the nation.
Seffner (Fla.) Armwood four-star CB Jaelen Waters is a one-time Florida pledge who followed defensive backs coach Will Harris from Gainesville to Coral Gables. He’s a top-200 prospect and the No. 17 CB in the cycle.

Jonesboro (Ga.) Wyman four-star CB Jontavious Wyman was also a flip target for the Canes. He flipped from Georgia to The U at the beginning of April and is the nation’s No. 21 CB. Rounding things out is Charlotte Myers Park four-star CB Camdin Ports, the son of Miami legend Clinton Portis.
Hurricanes stay hot on the trail this summer
Miami has had the juice this cycle since winning out for Nixa (Mo.) Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 overall prospect this cycle, back in May. Since Cantwell committed, 10 others have since followed suit.
Tustin (Calif.) Mission Viejo four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford was another who flipped from Georgia, doing so on June 23. He is right behind Cantwell at the top of the class, checking in as the No. 86 recruit and No. 12 wideout.
Visalia (Calif.) Redwood four-star tight end Israel Briggs is a former Arizona State pledge and ranks as the No. 8 TE this cycle. Venice (Fla.) four-star EDGE Asharri Charles is a top-200 prospect, while Little Rock (Ark.) Central four-star defensive lineman Anthony Kennedy is a former Mizzou pledge who joined the class on June 27.
The class now features 20 commits. Head coach Mario Cristobal and his staff aren’t done just yet, either.
