This weekend is set to bring myriad commitments as some of the nation’s top prospects in the 2026 cycle are ready to announce their college decisions. This Saturday, July 5, Phoenix Brophy Prep three-star wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald will do just that.

The son of legendary NFL receiver Larry Fitzgerald, Devin saw his recruitment blow up in the spring as offers began to roll in. He’s now worked through his process, taken his official visits and is now officially down to four schools.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound pass-catcher will choose between Clemson, Notre Dame, Stanford and UCLA.

All four programs received official visits from Fitzgerald across the last two months. He saw UCLA in May, then got an in-depth look at Clemson, Stanford and ND last month. According to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Fighting Irish have the edge with a decision just four days away.

Fitzgerald is the No. 524 overall prospect and No. 82 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 6 player in Arizona.

Fitzgerald discusses Clemson, Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA

When speaking with Rivals this spring and summer, Fitzgerald broke down his interest in each of the four schools that will have hats on the table this weekend. North Carolina and Arizona State cracked his top six this spring, but both are now out of the running.

Clemson: “It is impressive to see what Clemson and coach Dabo Swinney have been doing. They win 10 games nearly every year, they won the ACC last year and if they keep continuing to do that, they’re going to be in the College Football Playoff every year. They’re also a team that is big on family and family oriented. Not a lot of players leave that school and enter the transfer portal. They’re really big on developing their players.”

Notre Dame: “South Bend had a great energy to it. You could feel how much the program means to the people there. The environment was all about brotherhood a very tight-knit group, focused, and built on real relationships. What continues to excite me most about the opportunity to play for Coach Freeman and the Irish is how it’s bigger than just football.”

Stanford: “Stanford can set you up for life after football and they have great connections there. So many successful people went there. Stanford is one of the best places to set you up for life.”

UCLA: “UCLA is in California and offers a great education. You get to play against everyone in the Big Ten there. It offers the best of both worlds: high-level football and high-level academics, along with a great location.”

Fitzgerald coming off impressive weekend at OT7 Playoffs

It’s no secret that Fitzgerald can make plays down the field, and while he’s looking to make a statement as a senior for Brophy Prep this fall, he left an impression at the OT7 Playoffs last weekend in Florida. Rivals’ Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power tabbed Fitzgerald as a stock-riser following the event:

“Devin Fitzgerald was one of the more reliable wide receivers at the OT7 Playoffs. The son of NFL Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald showed a crafty skill set with quality route-running, spatial awareness, and strong ball skills. Fitzgerald found open space within the defense with regularity. He caught nearly everything and made some high-level grabs that required him to track the football over his opposite shoulder. The Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep product’s showing at OT7 outpaces his current 87 rating and was the most impressive evaluation point we’ve seen from him to this point in the cycle.”
