Rising two-way athlete Zion Vilma gets offer from ACC school
Talented athlete Zion Vilma from Dr. Joaquin Garcia is starting to gain some traction from multiple FBS programs. The Miami Hurricanes offered the 2027 athlete within the week.
“We’ve been in contact since June,” Vilma said. “I love the coaches. Great team. Great bond. Great connection. I’m looking forward to getting back down there again.”
Zion’s father is the cousin of former Miami alum Jonathan Vilma, but the connection had nothing to do with his scholarship offer.
Coastal Carolina, FAU, James Madison, Rutgers, Syracuse, and UTEP are the schools standing out in his recruitment, along with the Hurricanes. Coastal and UTEP are making significant progress in his recruitment.
Miami
Vilma visited Miami for two game-day visits: Stanford and NC State. The bond continues to strengthen, culminating in his offer days ago.

Coastal Carolina
The Chanticleers have yet to offer Vilma, but are maintaining strong contact with Vilma.
“I’ve been talking with their receivers coach. They really like me.”
UTEP
Vilma named UTEP as one of top three schools in contact with him the most.
“The DB coach has been recruiting me. We’ve been texting every day.”
Other schools
Vilma named Florida and UCLA as his dream schools, as he developed an affinity for both schools growing up, but is hoping to get an opportunity to visit Syracuse and UCF in the offseason.
“Syracuse is completely different from Florida schools. I want to see what that’s like.”
