Oregon State MBB Announces Two Additions For 2026-27

The Oregon State men’s basketball team and head coach Wayne Tinkle announced two new additions for the 2026-27 campaign on Friday. Kahu Treacher and Drew Anderson will join the program ahead of next season…
Kahu Treacher – Forward – 6-foot-9 – Junior – Eastern Arizona College & Hastings (New Zealand)

Treacher is currently in action with Eastern Arizona College, and he’ll join the Beavers as a junior ahead of next season. He played in 33 games as a freshman last season, shooting 44.4 percent from the floor on the year. Treacher helped the Monsters make the West District Championship last year, and is averaging 10.3 points and 5.5 rebounds through the first four games of the 2025-26 campaign.
“We’re very excited to be adding Kahu to our program,” Tinkle said. “He’s a player with great size and athleticism, and he’s an extremely tough, hard-nosed forward with plenty of skill. Kahu is a great young man from an incredible family, coming to us from New Zealand. We think he will bring a lot to our front court with his toughness and discipline.”
Treacher also represented New Zealand in FIBA youth action. He averaged 10.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game at the 2024 U18 Asia Cup, and also took part in the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup. He averaged 13.4 points per contest at the FIBA U17 Oceania Championship.
“I chose Oregon State because it felt like home when I came to visit, and because of the amazing people that are part of the program,” Treacher said. “Furthermore, I feel as though OSU can help me achieve my dream of going to the NBA.”
Drew Anderson – Forward – 6-foot-10 – Freshman – Rancho Santa Margarita (CA)

Anderson, a 6-foot-10 forward from Santa Margarita Catholic High School, is rated as one of the top-30 power forwards in the nation. Anderson has made the All-Trinity League three times, and helped lead his team to a conference title.
“Drew is going to be a great addition to our program,” Tinkle said. “He’s 6-foot-10 and athletic, and can handle the ball really well. Drew is skilled with a great shooting touch, and is a real threat at the rim both offensively and defensively. He comes from a great program and an incredible family, and on top of that he is a tremendous student as well.”
One of the top-20 prospects in the state of California, Anderson competed for Jalen Green Elite on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, averaging 19.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. He earned All-3SSB honors as well as 3SSB Breakout Player of the Year recognition.
“I choose Oregon State because of the coaching staff and the success they have had with players in my position,” Anderson said. “The school and environment felt like home and was somewhere I wanted to be. I really liked the guys on the team and culture was a family feel.”
