GoStanford.com: Cardinal Adds Ngenda To Recruiting Class

Listed at 5’9”, Ngenda is rated a 4-star recruit and the no. 95 player in the 2026 class according to espnW HoopGurlz. So while she isn’t rated by Rivals, she’s still considered to be a legit talent and a very nice addition to the Cardinal’s class.

What Ngenda appears to bring is versatility to the Cardinal backcourt as one who can play either on or off the ball. Given the fact that Hailee Swain and Shay Ijiwoye are both great with the ball in their hands, it’s important to have some guards who can play off the ball. Ngenda’s ability to do that should allow her to see the floor sooner. Having watched a bit of tape of her, she has a nice shot and good handles. She is active on defense, capable of being a disrupter. That’s something that should allow her to get on the floor as well.

“Elyse is a skilled and heady guard, a three-level scorer, who can play either point guard or off guard,” Stanford head coach Kate Paye said of Ngenda in the team release posted above. “She is a relentless defender and a vocal leader on the court. A high-character young woman, Elyse is student body president and a leader in her school community in a variety of roles. She is an excellent student-athlete, a great fit for this university, and appreciates all that Stanford has to offer.”
