Louisville has added Middletown (Oh.) three-star safety Jordan Vann to its 2026 recruiting class just ahead of signing day.

The 6-foot, 200-pound defensive back was previously committed to Michigan State in June and before that, was pledged to Virginia. Vann is ranked as a three-star and the No. 987 overall recruit in the 2026 Rivals Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 97 safety and the No. 45 recruit in Ohio.

The news comes shortly after Jonathan Smith, the Spartans’ head coach, was fired after the season finale. Vann was recently on campus for the Kentucky win and was offered a scholarship by the U of L on November 16.

Vann also held offers from Wisconsin, Purdue, and Iowa. The Cards had to overtake the Badgers to earn his commitment. The safety just had a massive growth spurt and wrapped up a fantastic senior season.

The Middletown, Ohio, native is the 20th commit in the Cardinals’ 2026 class, and with signing day approaching, Jeff Brohm is eager to get members of the class signed.

Louisville’s class currently sits as the seventh-best in the ACC and No. 42 in the nation. Vann is the only safety currently committed to the Cardinals in 2026 and fills a void after Jayden McGregory‘s decommitment two weeks ago.
