Kentucky flips WR Denairius Gray from Auburn

June was a hectic month full of football commitments for Kentucky and there were no signs of slowing down as the calendar flipped to July. Kentucky has flipped industry-rated four-star receiver Denairius Gray from Auburn.
The 6’1, 170-pound receiver from Boynton Beach (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep has an On3 Industry Ranking of 89.86, which places him as the No. 51 receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 43 overall player in Florida.
Kentucky had already landed commitments from wide receivers Prince Jean and Davis McCray, with the former having been compared to Alabama transfer Kendrick Law and the latter prized for his combination of length and speed.
Gray has been a nationally known prospect for a long time. As only a high school freshman he had 56 catches for 752 yards and 14 touchdowns. He committed to Auburn very early in the process, all the way back at the start of 2024.
But even though Gray has been committed to Auburn for about a year and a half that did not stop other schools from continuing to recruit him. Miami, Ole Miss, and Georgia are just some of the schools that have tried to flip Gray from Auburn. Florida and Florida State have also made a push at different times. Only Kentucky and wide receivers coach L’Damian Washington managed to make the flip happen.
Kentucky, NC State, and Washington are some of the schools Gray visited this summer even while he was still committed to the Tigers.
While Kentucky’s move to secure Gray’s flip was recent the Wildcats have been recruiting him for upwards of two years, dating back to when Liam Coen was the Cats’ offensive coordinator.
