Iowa State linebacker Caleb Bacon has been named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after becoming the first Cyclone since 2020 to record three sacks in a game.

Bacon, a Lake Mills, Iowa, native, led the Cyclones in their regular-season finale, a road win at Oklahoma State that marked ISU’s first victory in Stillwater since 2018. He finished with seven tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble as Iowa State held the Cowboys to 229 total yards.

The redshirt senior also added a quarterback hurry. Bacon, who received a medical redshirt after an injury-shortened 2024 season, is set to return for the 2026 campaign.

Iowa State wrapped up the season with 10 Big 12 Player of the Week awards, along with two Defensive Line of the Week honors and one Offensive Line of the Week recognition.
